Suzanne Peterson is a Utah native and earned her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Utah. Many years ago while taking nursing classes, her 3-year old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, which caused Suzanne to become intensely interested in pediatric care. After her daughter entered remission, she worked in pediatric oncology for years, but Suzanne saw a great need for pediatric and family mental health services given the difficult situations she’d encountered in pediatric oncology. She returned to graduate school and graduated from Georgetown to become a family Nurse Practitioner, specializing in mental health.
Though her passion is working with children and families on their mental health, she sees a great need for adult care because many children “age out” of pediatrics and still need somewhere to go where they have connection and trust. She has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and families as they maneuver through the difficulties of growing up.
It is important to Suzanne that all her patients or potential patients know that everyone has struggles and problems. Her focus is to help you learn better skills, gain better tools, and to celebrate any progress and growth that you experience in your efforts. She’s 100% on your side and will help you recognize your worth.
